There are actually two trails down to the beach. The main trail is on the west end of the beach near the parking area but there is also a second trail, which we think is a bit safer and easier, leading down to the east side of the beach. Both trails are physically demanding, potentially hazardous and not for the faint of heart. But the reward when you get to the bottom is fantastic, with waves crashing onto black volcanic rocks.
The only reason I didn't give this place five stars is because of difficult trails and no facilities. But otherwise, it is a complete delight and a great stop on any Hawaiian vacation.Read more
