G Books is a wonderfully retro gay men's bookstore, a 1970s-style throwback that has been a DC gayborhood hot spot since 2003. It stocks a huge, well-priced range of new and used gay books and magazines alongside DVDs, cards, lubes, gear, and pride items, and buys used gay books too. A rare survivor, one of the only dedicated gay men's bookstores left on the East Coast, it's a genuine piece of queer DC, run by a personable, discount-generous proprietor. Note that it currently operates on an order-and-pickup basis only.
