Gay Local Tips in Tel Aviv-Yafo

When in Tel Aviv

Meet Shachar and Tomer, a couple from Tel Aviv. They live in the center of the gay Middle Eastern capital in an apartment with an amazing view. They love offering the gay global community the opportunity to stay in one of the best locations you can imagine. Follow their tips to their local favourites spots and events in Tel Aviv!

How gay-friendly is Tel Aviv?

Tel Aviv is one of the best cities in the world for gay people, tourists and locals alike. People here are very liberal, warm and open-minded, and it’s often referred to as the cultural capital of Israel. The beautiful beaches, sunny weather and various food and nightlife attractions provide the perfect atmosphere for a vacation.

What are the best gay events that take place in your city each year?

Pride month – a series of events held troughout June – and of course the Pride Parade are a huge event in Tel Aviv, growing bigger each year and attracting thousands of tourists. The city is colored with pride flags all around, and there are lots of parties during this time.

We only have 48 hours in your city. What can’t we miss?

The beach boardwalk, Rothschild Boulevard, Neve Tzedek, old city of Jaffa, HaKarmel market and Hayarkon Park are the venues and must-see spots you shouldn't miss.

The best gay place and day for a cheap beer or happy hour?

Shpagat is a very cool gay bar with great music and friendly staff.

We’re ready to party! What are the best gay clubs?

Plenty of options to choose from! Among the big ones are Pag, Drek and Forever Tel Aviv. The best way to find your club is to look for Atraf, an Israeli dating app and website with the most up-to-date party guide.

Can you share a secret or little-known place to visit?

Nachlat Binyamin is a very nice street to walk through, with plenty of street art, graffiti and a cool arts and crafts market which opens every Tuesday and Friday throughout the day.

Any beaches, parks or best other places to chill-out?

Tel Aviv has many great beaches to relax and sunbathe at, including Hilton Beach, where you usually find lots of gay guys, both tourists and locals.

If you want to chill out or have a nice bike ride at a park, Hayarkon Park – located at the north side of Tel Aviv – is the place for you.

Finally, where can we get the best view of Tel Aviv?

Hamidron Garden in Jaffa (the south side of Tel Aviv) is one of the best and most popular points for the perfect selfie with the cityscape! ●
