The Old Boat House is a calm, stylish coastal retreat tucked just off the River Lim walk in Lyme Regis. It’s an easy stroll into town, the beach and the harbour, but once you’re back at the house it feels peaceful and nicely tucked away.

The cottage has been recently updated with a light, modern coastal feel that’s comfortable and easy to relax in, while still keeping the character of an old boat house. It’s the kind of place that suits slow mornings, easy days by the sea and quiet evenings back at the house if the weather turns cool.

The Cottage:

There are three bedrooms: two with king-size beds and a smaller bunk room that sleeps two adults. One of the king rooms has an en-suite. There’s a shared bathroom upstairs, a comfortable living area with a wood burner, and a new kitchen set up for straightforward self-catering.

Outside, there’s a small enclosed patio where you can sit with a coffee or a glass of wine. Parking is private, and there’s a garage that’s handy for bikes, wetsuits or beach bits. Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

The area

You can walk straight into Lyme Regis along the river, cafés, pubs, shops, the beach and the Cobb are all close by. It’s a great base for coastal walks, fossil hunting, swimming, or just pottering about town without needing the car.
