About the Place

L'Orée du Maïdo is a small haven of peace in a green setting. This charming, listed bed and breakfast is fully equipped for your comfort, combining charm and modernity. Stone and wood set the tone and combine to create a cosy atmosphere for your stay.
A bathroom with granite bathtub opens onto the bedroom, giving access to a pretty, planted, grassy 100 m2 garden that's entirely private for your farniente sessions. A living room separated from the sleeping area with a fully equipped kitchen also opens onto the outside, both on the garden side and on the spa side.
A 17 m2 roof terrace with a view of the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, as well as a magnificent bamboo grove home to species endemic to Réunion Island.
A spa area with unlimited access to an outdoor 5-seater Jacuzzi, so you can bubble away to your heart's content, during the day or under a starry sky.
Solid parquet on the floor, a boat deck finish in the bathroom and marbled stucco on the walls create the perfect harmony between vintage and modern in the decoration of your accommodation.
Take full advantage of the roof terrace to perfect your tan, enjoy an aperitif while admiring the superb sunsets and savor moments of pure relaxation in the heated outdoor Jacuzzi.
The accommodation is fully accessible for your stay. So you can enjoy the jacuzzi for as long as you like, the fully private garden and the roof terrace.
We live on site, and our living space is quite separate from that of our guests. We keep a low profile, but we're always on hand to make sure our guests have everything they need.
We also have two faithful four-legged companions who are very sociable, fun-loving and love to be petted. Rest assured, they won't disturb your peace and quiet!
To sum up, our accommodation is designed to make our guests feel at home... but truly elsewhere!

Establishment rated 3 stars (March 2019) - Declaration of furnished rental registered with the St Paul Town Hall.

Nearby Attractions

Our accommodation is less than 2 minutes' walk from all local shops (bakery, delicatessen, greengrocer, mini-market, gas station, post office, medical center, pharmacy, etc.).
Ideally situated between the sea and the mountains and nestled in the heart of the village of Le Guillaume at an altitude of some 600 m on the west side of the island, you can enjoy the charm and freshness of the highlands in the height of summer. Halfway (less than 20 minutes by car) between the island's famous western beaches and the Piton Maïdo (a must-see spot with a breathtaking view of the Mafate cirque, where numerous hiking trails begin). So it's not uncommon to set off for a morning walk in the mountains or forest, only to return for lunch by the lagoon and an afternoon relaxing on the warm sand.
We're also halfway between the 2 main towns (St Denis to the north and St Pierre to the south - around 30 minutes away) for your shopping, as well as 15 minutes from St Gilles-les-Bains, the island's main seaside resort, with its marina and numerous bars, restaurants and other lively seaside spots.
Other major tourist attractions can be reached by car: St Paul's fairground (15 min.), Cirque de Cilaos (1h30), Cirque de Salazie (1h40), Piton de la Fournaise (1h30)...
