Our cottage offers an escape from the world, where you can actually see the constellations, watch barn owls and hear birds sing.

It’s ******** as quite simply it’s where all the farm carpentry work was carried out for many years after it ceased to be used as a cottage. There was however a thatched cottage on the site until just after WWII and most of the stonework, one of the windows and an internal door was salvaged from the original cottage.

The large master bedroom situated on the upper floor is designed for couples and friends. For additional guests there is a double sofa bed in the living room that sleeps an extra two people if required.

Measuring a spacious 5x4m into the eaves, it boasts a traditional king size brass bed, incredibly comfortable mattress, goose down duvet, exquisite Irish linen and for all romantics, at the foot of the bed rests an indulgent slipper bath with adjoining ice bucket and stand.

There is an ensuite washroom with twin wash basins, toilet and bidet.

The bedroom windows from both the bedroom and washroom overlook our grass tennis court, guest lawn, BBQ area, stable block and surrounding fields. Guests are welcome to play tennis (weather permitting), croquet, boules and explore the farm and woodland.

The bedroom is incredibly light, with a total of four windows, two facing South, two facing North. Guests please note the bedroom has restricted headroom into the eaves and the windows are top opening roof windows.

Sitting Room and Kitchen:

The open plan sitting room and kitchen are located on the ground floor.

There is a double leather sofa (sofa bed) and four people can be seated easily. With the sofa bed, the cottage can sleep four guests.

The wood burning stove sits in a slate hearth, providing a romantic backdrop as you relax on the sofa.

There are three ground floor windows, two South facing and one West facing, flooding the room with natural light. The door is a stable type door. During warmer weather it can be nice to leave the top half open.

If requested with 96 hours notice we provide a courtesy dongle for Wifi. More fun is a cupboard that contains a wide selection of games including cards, scrabble, trivial pursuit, backgammon, chess, draughs and ludo.

The television is wall mounted and accepts an HDMI cable.

The extending dining table seats four. There is also a private external table so you can eat al fresco. This table faces East / West so you can catch the sun throughout the day.

The luxury kitchen is perfectly equipped so that guests want for nothing. In addition to a host of cooking utensils, there’s a real Italian espresso machine, Duralit toaster, cafetière, as well as top of the range fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. It has a backdrop of four especially commissioned glass Italian still life splash backs that exude quality.

We do not accept pets under any circumstances. Please do not ask. We tried but sadly too many owners showing too little respect. About the property
