We truly loved staying at this beautiful colonial hacienda. The house is full of authentic historical details that give it so much character and charm. It feels special and unique, while still being very comfortable for a relaxing stay. Carlos is a wonderful host — kind, attentive, and always ready to help. He made us feel welcome from the start and was available whenever we needed anything. The property is located outside the city, so you'll need to use Uber or transportation to get around, but we actually appreciated that. Being away from the crowds and noise allowed us to enjoy peace and quiet, while still having easy access to the city whenever we wanted to explore. We would definitely stay here again.
Staying at the hacienda was like being at home, I felt peaceful from the moment I arrived and I was also happy because I met Fox and Jonás, the hacienda's little dogs. The place is beautiful, with common areas and spacious, comfortable rooms. Despite being a bit far from the city, this was never an inconvenience, but rather, it's what creates an atmosphere of peace and tranquility for me. Carlos is an incredible host, kind, cordial, helpful, and fun like no one else, quite a character! I'm grateful for Carlos's kindness 100%, which made my stay at the hacienda more than incredible. Highly recommended. I promise to return soon 🫶🏽
Hoooooo thank you so much !!!!😊 you're the best!
Inka Tambo was a wonderful place to stay during my week in Cusco. It's out and above the city a bit, but not too much. It was quiet, which I appreciated after the noise of travel, a busy city during the rainy summer, restaurants with clientelle and music, and cheap transport with loud radio. Sometimes the dogs in the area got into an early evening barking routine with other dogs within earshot. Not much to do about that, and most evenings I was away. Inka Tambo is walking distance to the near entrance to Sacsayhuaman. (The far entrance seems reserved for larger tours arriving in larger busses.) It's an amazing site, and I wish I had time/prioritized to visit twice. Carlos was a great attentive, yet hands-off, host. We communicated best via ********, and ******** translate was also very helpful. Wifi access varies greatly throughout the spaces of the old, thick-walled, hacienda. I had next to nothing in my room, despite a booster in the room. Carlos allowed me to use the office, which had stunning speeds suitable for video calls. Other areas required being connected to the network with the strongest signal. Breakfast was a nice routine, and I loved eating in the sunroom in the back. The medium-fried eggs were perfect. I'd hope for more interaction with other guests, but I don't think there were many other guests staying. Although I don't use Uber in the States, I found Uber the easiest way to get back to Inka Tambo. I could set my destination on my phone rather than trying to explain to a taxi that may or may not be a legit cab. For the downhill ride to town, I hitchhiked out at the main road, down a bit from the hairpin turn. I'd offer change at the end of the ride, S5 (5 Soles). One guy asked for more, which I was fine with. Minimum Uber fare seemed to be S7.20 (7.20 Soles), and I'd tip generously after the ride. My minimal Spanish was fine for getting around. Inka Tambo does offer washing machines, but does not have dryers. I bet that most of the year, the dry mountain air dries stuff quickly. My rainy and overcast days led me to finding a laundry service. There are several on Saphi (street) on one of the ways into town. I would stay again at Inko Tambo because of the at-home feel and the peace and quiet.
Beautiful accommodation in a historic yet cosy building that is conveniently located for exploring the centre of Cusco. The Planetarium and Sacsayhuamán are literally on your doorstep. Alberto is an exceptional host - kind, so helpful and good to chat with (he also provided tasty breakfasts). Highly recommend a stay here and I hope to return someday.
Gorgeous place and host
Carlos was very kind and received me with very gentle and personal treatment. The house is an old Hacienda and very well decorated. It is located away from the center so it is necessary to keep paying for taxis to go or come. Overall, the place is very peaceful and pleasant.
Excellent place to stay in Cusco, spacious and well-equipped rooms, far enough from the center to rest comfortably and close enough to connect to Cusco's historic center. The host 10/10, very attentive and especially makes very delicious breakfasts.
Carlos is a sunny, dear person and a great host. He helped with any issue during our stay. His place is amazing, an historical mansion that feels super warm and cozy. We are so glad to have found him!
Carlos was an excellent host, always available for any questions and help we needed. The estate is spectacular, decorated with excellent taste with that ancient charm with everything made of wood. The patio, the living room, the huge garden... everything very beautiful. The room had views of the forest, the bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious and clean with a striking glass door facing the street. It was winter and he left us a heater so we were very comfortable. Despite being away from the center of Cusco (about 30 min walk or 10 min by transport), this is not a problem at all since Uber picks you up and takes you without any issues and for €2-3. Plus it's part of the charm, being on the outskirts of the city and enjoying the silence and nature. We also want to thank Carlos for letting us wash our clothes in his washing machine as well as for the light breakfast to start the day.
Thousand thanks guys, what a lovely comment, how nice to know that you enjoyed the place, I wish you much luck in everything!
This is the most amazing MisterBnb, or any web site, ever! It's literally a royal palace. On a beautiful hilltop, practically IN the Sacsayhuaman archeological site. To say it is a bargin at this price is an understatement. And Carlos is a super wonderful host. His two dogs are adorable. The place is decorated like a museum. And he personally makes breakfast for everyone every day. He's a sweetie pie. And the place is a dream come true.
