Outdoor activities abound all around us. If you enjoy hiking, you can start right outside our front door and walk within the Bear Ridge Association where we are located. There are many gravel roads and trails that take you through the woods with pretty settings. At the bottom of the mountain, you'll find a creekside shelter where you can watch the water run through the rocks.

We are also close to Roan Mountain, Loafers Glory Rafting and Tubing, and NC Outdoor Adventures.

If you like a good, local coffee house, stop by the Fox and the Fig in Spruce Pine. They make a great cup of jo, have really good home made desserts and offer a warm inviting space to hang out. DT's Blue Ridge Java is another good spot for coffee.

For some good dining, try Mountain Holler for a good steak, or Bonnie and Clydes for a good burger. Spruce Pine has some good options too. No 3 Grill is an American Pub style place, The Tropical Grill gets good reviews, or get a beer at Bierdock.
