For the MAISON D'ARTISTE , this is a house for a couple only. A marvel of fantasy and a little eco-friendly jewel before its time, this house has all the makings of a large one despite its small size. Nestled in a garden overlooking the sea, with its own private Jacuzzi, it merges seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Here, you live facing the sea, fall asleep looking out to sea, wake up watching the fishermen go by in their pirogues, eat facing the sea, have a drink facing the sea, all with the song of the waves on the reef to lull you to sleep throughout the day and night. This house is really like no other, made entirely of wood and with a green roof, it was built with a simple chainsaw. There's nothing industrial here, everything is done by hand or with a chainsaw, which gives it that special cachet that made this house finish 4th in the contest for the prettiest private homes in 2014. It's so special, in fact, that we've named it the faré (Tahitian word for house) tarzan, but all the 'jane or tarzan' are welcome too. You can always go fishing for the day's catch in the lagoon if you wish (if you haven't caught anything, don't worry, the supermarket opposite sells fish for 1 change, or my neighbor is a fisherman and you can buy your tuna with him when he comes home).The house is on a 2000m2 property that it shares with 3 other houses; the land is perfectly fenced in and we have 3 dogs to look after it (a 40kg PIAPA mongrel and 2 dachshunds, Churro and Lilou), so you'll have the joy of being able to sleep in the open if you feel like it; just imagine the view of the lagoon at night with a full moon, it's amazing. The supermarket opposite is sure to have everything you need (ultra convenient, open every day of the week from 6am to 7pm). As for me, I work from home for a marine works company (******** so over the years I've acquired a certain knowledge of the islands that I'd be happy to share with you if you need help organizing your trip. Having lived here all my life, I'd also be happy to help you with any questions you may have. You should also know that this house has a real fan club all over the world, and our guests urge us to set up a guest book, which was done in 2015. This house is made for lovers of the simple life (but with all modern comforts it goes without saying) and of nature. Here, you can also watch the whales from August to October.
