Magical dome house in tropical garden, minutes from pristine beaches

Welcome to the Green Moon Lodge, my magical dome home in Montezuma. This stunning house will take your breath away!

I am excited to welcome you to this unique vacation home. The domes are built with aircrete (a special concrete-foam mix) and we made everything ourselves, including each of the 1200 blocks needed for the domes.

I have beautifully decorated the house with artwork done by myself, friends, and local artists. This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the surrounding jungle in a very special and unique setting.

The three domes are connected by arches and comprise of one bedroom, one bathroom, and a kitchen/living room area which opens up to a tropical garden facing the jungle.

The BEDROOM is equipped with a queen sized bed and has large, round windows to lounge in and enjoy jungle views. All windows have mosquito screens. During the dry season you can open the roof and enjoy STARGAZING DIRECTLY FROM BED.

The BATHROOM is designed uniquely, equipped with a hot water shower and towels at your disposal. There is also a washing machine you can use.

The central dome is the largest one and offers a generous space for the kitchen and living room. The KITCHEN is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, blender, and coffee maker.

The spacious LIVING ROOM can be used to do yoga, meditate, or just relax and gaze into the jungle.

The GARDEN has been planted with a range of tropical plants. There is a seating area outside which is especially lovely in the late afternoons. If you want to relax in the shade, there is a hammock under the trees. Monkeys are frequent visitors and the flowers attract beautiful butterflies and humming birds.

LOCATION: The house is located only a 3 minute drive uphill from Montezuma center in a quiet, relaxing neighborhood. By foot it's a 20 minute walk. A taxi costs 6 USD and the bus passes by. There is plenty of space for PARKING on the property.

Mobile network reception is very good at the house and fiber optic WiFi is available. Guest access The whole house and garden is private and for the guests only. Other things to note BREAKFAST: Available on request for an additional price of 12 USD per person/day. We bring you breakfast to the dome house (see examples in the photos). You can choose from typical breakfast, pancakes, french toast, sausages, etc. Accompanied by fruit or a smoothie.

Montezuma is a lovely little beach village on the Nicoya peninsula of Costa Rica, by the Pacific Ocean. ​You find beautiful beaches, refreshing rivers, waterfalls, tide pools, and lots of jungle life all around you. We are surrounded by several nature reserves so the area is well protected from large developments.

The house is in a quiet residential neighborhood 1.5km/1mile uphill from Montezuma center and beaches. Monkeys are seen a lot around here, as well as many birds, butterflies, and small animals like agoutis.

The fastest option to get to Montezuma is via domestic flight from San Jose to Cobano (Fly Sansa or Green Airways), Montezuma is only 6km away.

To get to Montezuma from San Jose by car, take the ferry from Puntarenas to Paquera, then drive for another 60 minutes. There is also a direct bus from San Jose (Transportes Cobano). From Liberia, it's a 4-hour drive to Montezuma. --- It's nice to have a rental car, quad bike or scooter/motorbike to explore the area, but it's not necessary.
