Sircuit is the biggest and longest-running queer venue in Fitzroy, a beloved gay bar and club right on the buzzing Smith Street gayborhood strip, a short 86 tram ride from the CBD. Predominantly a gay men's bar but genuinely inclusive, it's a fun, unpretentious hangout where pop and disco reign, with nightly DJs, drag shows, go-go dancers and a mixed, up-for-it crowd. The ground floor has the main bar, a street-facing smoking area and several pool tables (free pool early in the week) that clear away for the weekend dance floor, while upstairs the rooftop diner Mollies serves cocktails and food for a quieter moment. Add a relaxed street bar for afternoon drinks, cheap-as-chips specials (the $2 Thursday pots are the stuff of legend) and mostly free entry, and you've got a genuine cornerstone of gay Melbourne north of the river, buzzing till 3am.
