Apollo Sauna

Apollo is a cozy, characterful classic of Hamburg's gay sauna scene, a smaller, more intimate spot than the city's larger bathhouses, set in the lively Schanze quarter just west of the center. It offers a Finnish sauna with regular infusions, a steam sauna, a plunge pool, a bar, a video room, a smoking room, and plenty of free relaxation cabins and a darkroom, with massage available. Famously warm and old-school, where the staff and regulars all know each other, it draws a mainly mature crowd of bears and their admirers, and is a longtime home of the Nordbären (Northern Bears) monthly sauna day on the fourth Friday.
