Family Bar and Club

Family Bar and Club is the biggest party venue on Auckland's K Road and a longtime home for the city's LGBTQ+ community. It spreads across multiple bars and two dance floors under one roof, so there's always a different mood to move between: a casual front bar with nightly karaoke, a garden bar for fresh air, and a packed club room for dancing. Weekends are built around drag. The Friday and Saturday showtime hits around 1:00 am, hosted by some of the city's best-loved queens, with DJs keeping the floor full until 4:00 am. Everyone, from drag queens to dancing queens, is welcome, and many nights offer free entry. It gets seriously busy after 1:00 am on weekends, so arrive early if you want room to dance.
