Caluzzi Bar and Cabaret

Caluzzi is New Zealand's original drag queen cabaret, a K Road institution that has been staging drag since 1996. The evening is part dinner and part show: you're seated for a three-course meal (garlic bread, soup, and a choice of chicken, beef, salmon, lamb, or a vegetarian main) while some of the country's most awarded drag artistes perform around you, with plenty of costume changes, comedy, and audience banter. It's fully interactive, and you will probably end up part of the act. After the show, disco music keeps the room going, and many guests stay on for drinks, photos, and dancing. A favorite for birthdays and group nights out, it's an easy way to see Auckland's drag scene at its best. The themes are adult, so it isn't one for children, and booking ahead is a must.
