Perched on the ocean’s edge, Whale Huys is a beautiful villa with unobstructed sea views from all living areas, dining areas and bedrooms It has a gourmet kitchen, rim-flow pool, private gym, and unlimited free wifi.

Fall asleep and wake to the sound of the waves gently lapping at the rocks below and the sea birds cavorting in the ocean breeze. Settle in for the evening with a glass of local wine in front of the fireplace or watch a movie from the extensive DSTV Premium or Showmax collection.

With 4 bedrooms, 4 1⁄2 bathrooms, Whale Huys is the perfect holiday rental choice for a romantic escape or for a group of friends looking for a luxurious place to vacation together! The villa is quite private and you have exclusive use of the Villa during your stay. The manager lives nearby, so if you have any questions she is there to help. Daily maid service is available at a small additional charge.

During the past five years we have tastefully renovated and furnished Whale Huys to be our dream retirement home. But in the meantime, we're delighted to share this little piece of paradise with visitors from around the world.

We love the combination of city life in Amsterdam and relaxation away from it all on the coast of South Africa. Nearby Attractions

If you are feeling more active, opportunities abound. The town of Stanford offers award winning country restaurants and is just 12 minutes by car. Some of South Africa's best wineries in the Hemel en Aaarde valley and the Cape Aghulus region are an easy drive away. Perfect for a relaxing lunch or wine tasting.

For nature lovers, Whale Huys is ideally situated for viewing the "Marine big 5". Shark cage diving boats leave from Gansbaai, just 10 minutes by car. During Whale Season (June-Nov) you can whale watch right from the villa's balcony or deck. Dolphins also regularly pass by our coast. Dassies, mongooses (or is mongeese, I never know!), tortoises are regular visitors to the fynbos vegetation just below the villa, The penguin sanctuary and the seal island (Dyer Island) are nearby and also worth a visit.

Feeling active? Hiking, mountain biking kayaking and horseback riding are all available in the immediate area.

For the culturally minded, Elim, a former mission station and Unesco world heritage site is a 30 minutes drive. Just beyond this is the artists village of Wolvegat (it's actually too small to even be called a village, but very quaint).

There are regular arts festivals in the area (Baardskeerdersbos) and some amazing Saturday country markets, Hermanus for example has live music, excellent coffee and local food and crafts.
