Arrandoovong Homestead is one of the Western Districts most outstanding historic homes and is nestled in what is ******** The thriving town of Hamilton is only a 20 minute drive away and is close the foot of the majestic Southern Grampians. If the beach and ocean are your preference, Port Fairy and Warrnambool border the outer edges of the Green Triangle and are just a leisurely drive away.
The Homestead was built in 1852 and retains all of the charm of its era. With the building recently restored and the gardens re-established, Arrandoovong has been transformed into a quiet and restful country retreat.
The accommodation is in the ‘cottage’ at the rear of the main bluestone building and is fully self -contained with separate access and parking. There is one large bedroom with queen size bed, plenty of hanging space and reverse cycle A/C. The modern kitchen features an induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, artisan coffee machine and incorporates a sunny and welcoming dining space.
There is also a cosy snug which is a perfect reading room and incorporates an abundance of quality reading material.
The main sitting room features a log burner for those cold winter days and nights. There is a BOSE speaker for music and the frame TV includes Stan, Netflix and Prime. WIFI is also connected and the room has a reverse cycle A/C.
The extensive gardens are at your disposal with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the views. There is also a spring-fed creek that runs through the property and this can be explored (weather permitting).
The focus at Arrandoovong is on old world comfort and relaxation and is perfect for the couple who want to do some daytime exploration and enjoy evening culinary delights from establishments dotted about the region. Of course in our opinion nothing is better than coming home to the comfort and ambience of Arrandoovong.
