Named after the poet Rosetti, our Edwardian home is our passion. We do our best to be sympathetic to our period property while also reflecting our personalities - for better or worse! If you're looking for Swedish Minimalism that isn't us, but our quirky Arts and Crafts style reflects the two friendly chaps who live here.
We have been hosts on that other BNB site for about 2 years, new here but looking forward to hosting new guests from Mister.
Note we have a cat (more below)
We enjoy our food, our garden and our home and invite you to share that space with us for what we hope will be a comfortable stay in a large room. The large room is the former master bedroom (before the loft conversion) and so offers plenty of space.
You'll have access to the main bathroom with bath and shower (which we rarely use as we have an en suite to our own bedroom).
You will be staying in our house. We work and live here, but the bedroom is laid out in such a way that guests staying have privacy and can spread themselves out. There is a wardrobe available in the bedroom and drawers by the bed.
Other amenities include mirrors, plug sockets, an iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer. And Wifi of course!
You will have access to shared areas of our house and garden.
We have a lounge and a "cinema room" or as we call it: "The snug". You're welcome to use when free, if you're feeling social, join us to watch a film in the main living room. We have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+ and iPlayer set up on the TVs in both the living room and the Snug.
We can provide office space if needed.
The garden is lovely in summer and we have loungers and chairs for you to sit on and enjoy the space. The garden is very country cottage-inspired with over 40 years of love having gone into the planting scheme (the house has been in the family for a long time).
You'll likely see a variety of birds and insects, squirrels and in summer Hedgehogs are regular nighttime visitors.
We know some guests just want a place to sleep and keep themselves to themselves, others are more social. We are happy to fit in around either. If you're visiting Bristol for pleasure we'd be happy (if we're free) to recommend some of the sights. If you're visiting for work we are happy to offer advice about local places to eat, if you haven't asked to have meals with us, and provide recommendations for other activities or places to explore in the area.
We will provide a key so you can come and go. Ideally, you'll arrive at a time where we will be able to meet and greet you, and give you the tour. If you do need to arrive at odd hours, we have a lock box in which we can leave the key for you to access the house. However, this may not always be possible, so please do inform us of your arrival time in advance, especially if it's going to be at an unusual time.
Please note: We have an older cat, if you have allergies avoid booking. Eric is kept out of guest bedroom. If you wish to bring pets please ask in advance. It's his home first-and-foremost! Eric should be no bother but we ask all guests to be careful about ensuring the frontdoor shut (which is sensible just for security) and if you have a dog be prepared to keep them in your room only (which is large and we've had many dogs stay) as Eric does get uncomfortable if they free roam.
