Launched in 2008, Antwerp Gay Pride is a relatively new LGBTQ event for this Belgian destination. For five days, the streets, bars and clubs of Belgium’s second city turn into a riot of LGBTQ celebration. As well as an incredible gay pride parade, you can look forward to a jam-packed schedule of pride festivals, afterparties, and cultural events.
The following is the event program for 2020. Stay tuned for the 2021 program.
There are many events and parties during the five days of Antwerp Gay Pride, but they culminate on the final Saturday, August 10, with the main parade kicking off at 2pm from the Gedempte Zuiderdokken parking lot. The parade will run until 5pm, so be sure to bring plenty of party spirits and loads of stamina.
As part of Antwerp Pride, there will also be the lively Pride Festival which kicks off at 3pm in the same location (Gedempte Zuiderdokken), and runs until midnight. On top of these main Antwerp Gay Pride events, you can also look forward to a series of different events which will run from August 7 to 11. Highlights include the Pride Closing Festival Rainbow Village and Fetish Afternoon, which are both taking place on Sunday, August 11.
While Antwerp may sometimes fall in the shadows of its larger sibling, Brussels, there are still plenty of opportunities to experience your pride in this diverse Belgian city.
