Following the success of EuroPride 2019 in Vienna, EuroPride 2020 will be taking place in the Greek city of Thessaloniki. This will be the first time in the history of EuroPride that the event will be transpiring in the South East of Europe. Recognizing the turbulent history of the Balkans, which was marred by violence, discrimination, and discord, EuroPride 2020 will be adopting the theme of "welcome to the future, where everyone can join."
The relevant and inspiring theme aims to turn a new page for the Pride movement in this region, and reinforce sentiments of freedom and hope for the local LGBTQ community. The organizing committee of Thessaloniki Pride hopes this momentous event will be a turning point for Greece and neighboring countries concerning the lives of thousands' of local LGBTQ people. With this intention in mind, the committee is striving to deliver a EuroPride which will be safe, political, and of course festive!
Please note that due to the global Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak, EuroPride 2020 has been postponed until further notice.
With June 2020 still a while a way, the official program for EuroPride 2020 in Thessaloniki is still TBD. That said, we can confirm that there will be a series of outdoor parties, art exhibitions, concerts, open-air screenings, and a human rights conference.
On June 28, 2020, 51 years after the iconic Stonewall Uprising, the official EuroPride Parade will travel through the streets of Thessaloniki, welcoming thousands of pride marchers and onlookers. While you will have to wait for full details on EuroPride 2020, it's not too early to start planning your trip to this charming Greek city, and book your misterb&b.
