Homo Sapiens is Buenos Aires' biggest and best-known gay sauna, a sprawling three-floor bathhouse right next door to the Amerika nightclub, an easy reach from Palermo and Almagro. It offers wet and dry saunas, private cabins, a cinema room with big screens, massage tables, a darkroom, and a proper bar pouring cheap, good Argentine wines, with towels, lockers, and toiletries included on entry, plus free condoms and lube. Social and unpretentious, it draws a diverse, mostly local crowd across all ages, hosts naturist sessions on weekends, and gets busiest on Sunday afternoons, the high point of the city's sauna week.
