Por um Punhado de Dólares is a charming, gay-popular coffee shop in central São Paulo, a cozy, stylish little spot near Praça Roosevelt just a block from the iconic Copan building, and, as one of our hosts put it, a really nice place for a date. Named with a wink after the Sergio Leone western "A Fistful of Dollars," it's serious about its "cafés sinceros," house-roasted arabica beans (including the darkly named, boldly bitter "Fuck Coffee") pulled into excellent espresso, alongside craft beers, cachaça, cocktails and tasty snacks. There's even a little shop in the back for beans, brewing kit and the café's cult mugs. Relaxed, modern and unpretentious, with quick, friendly service, it's an easy, welcoming choice for a coffee, a catch-up or a low-key date in the center.
