Betty & Joan’s

Betty & Joan's, affectionately known as BJ's, is the first gay bar in Elephant Park and one of the newest jewels of South London's fast-growing queer scene, opened at the end of 2024. Named for comedy icons Betty White and Joan Rivers, this queer-owned venue is part glossy neighborhood bar, part full-on cabaret club, with floor-to-ceiling windows that make a point of being seen rather than hidden away. It pairs signature cocktails and its own house brew, "Funny Juice," with a packed calendar of drag shows, DJ-led pop, house, and disco nights, karaoke, and bingo. Above all, it's the proud home of the Queer Comedy Club, the UK's first LGBTQ+ stand-up comedy club, with live comedy five nights a week, making it a genuinely original addition to gay London.
