The Queer Comedy Club is the UK's first permanent LGBTQ+ stand-up comedy club, founded by queer comedians David Ian, Kate Dale, and Jeremy Topp as an antidote to the often straight, macho mainstream circuit. What began as a single comedy night grew into a dedicated venue, now settled in the heart of Elephant & Castle alongside its sister bar, Betty & Joan's. With live comedy five nights a week, it gives emerging queer comics a supportive stage and brings audiences everything from new-material RAW nights to lineups of award-winning circuit talent, even filming shows for international LGBTQ+ broadcast. Warm, inclusive, and built around the idea that queer stories deserve to be heard and laughed about, it's a genuinely original night out and a welcome break from the usual bar-and-club formula.
