"My stay at the Amistad Hotel was exactly what I was looking for! The hotel is centrally located. There are trams nearby accessible to all parts of the city. There are nearby restaurants as well as grab-n-go places for food. I stayed in room 9 which luckily has roof access which allowed me to keep the door open for added ventilation. One thing to note is that there is no elevator, so be sure to voice any accessibility needs immediately. Breakfast is included as well—yummy & a nice touch!"

"We had to book alternative accommodation since our original MrB&B host cancelled at the last minute. The Generator appeals to mostly younger people who want budget accommodation in pods and dorms, but we got a "DeLuxe" room, which was a bit cramped but adequate, but certainly not Deluxe - it had no TV - compared to other hotels we stayed at. Quiet (you can avoid the parties in the basement) and clean, with an excellent cafe and (paid for) breakfast. Lovely staff, and can leave your luggage (paid for too) if needed. But much too expensive, as with everything in Amsterdam."

"The hotel staff were all very nice. The espresso machine in the lobby was nice to have and to have coffee made for you free of charge 24 hours a day. The room was incredibly tiny for a small double room. The sink and bathroom toilet were too close to each other. You had to have your legs under the sink if sitting on the toilet. We had to keep the window blinds closed because of other individuals in adjacent buildings looking in on us. Taxi service to the airport is great."

"This was a great place to stay. All the people that worked there was so service minded and nice. There were a gym and you could do laundry there. Breakfast was very good."

"More like a hostel than a hotel, but the room was clean, and the shared bathrooms were very adequate. Other commenters mentioned the steepness of the stairs, which is pretty common in Amsterdam, but seem particularly steep for this place. If you have any form of accessibility issue this is probably not the place for you. Also note that it's close to some of the local bars and clubs and you can hear the music on weekends late into the night. That said the location was perfect and for the same reason."

"A very clean and well maintained hostel — nothing like some hostels in Europe. The check-in process was easy and the staff were exceptionally helpful, kind, and friendly. The location is also perfect, on the main tram line right from Amsterdam Central and lots of restaurants, coffee shops within walking distance. It is pricier for a hostel, especially if booking a private room, but worth it. Very accurate description. Highly recommend staying here"

"Cutesy hostel with a very nice and homey vibe. The layout of the whole place is nice. Very good washrooms and showers and offer towels. Few but available lockers in dorms. My only complaint was how creeky the beds were. All the bunks make a lot of noise."
