Gabriel and Steven are a happy couple from Costa Rica and England but living in Dublin. They have some awesome suggestions to make the most out of your stay in the Irish capital. Check out the best places to get brunch, party your night away the Irish way, and the events you shouldn't miss when you stay like a gay local in Dublin...
What makes Dublin a favorite gay destination?
Dublin is a vibrant city with great character and welcoming people. Although it's small, it’s not short of activities, events, gay parties, and cute guys. If you like gingers, you’re in the right place! :)
How gay-friendly is Dublin?
Dublin, like the rest of Ireland, is very gay-friendly. You'll always feel welcome, no matter your sexuality, gender, race, beliefs, etc. Being the first country in the world to approve same-sex marriage by popular vote can give you a good idea of the mentality of modern Ireland.

What are the best gay events that take place in Dublin?
As like many other cities in the world, Pride is the biggest event during the year. The Dublin Gay Pride takes place at the end of June, and there are many gay events and parties happening during the week.
We cannot forget about the world famous St. Patrick’s Day, which also hosts a variety of gay and gay-friendly parties to celebrate Ireland’s biggest holiday. And we also recommend the GAZE International LGBT Film Festival and the International Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, too.

What’s your favorite place in Dublin to grab a bite to eat?
For lunch, one of our favourites is Crackbird, or try Bunsen for a mean burger! For dinner, options are aplenty; a few good ones are Chameleon for an Indonesian experience, Brasserie Sixty6, and The Winding Stair for something more Irish, with a great view of the River Liffey and the Ha’penny Bridge.
A gay place for brunch on weekends?
Hatch and Sons, Brother Hubbard and Platform 61 for their bottomless mimosas.
Best gay place and day for a cheap beer or happy hour?
PantiBar pretty much every day of the week. This a Dublin gay institution and a great place to meet the locals. You can also try The George and its popular Sunday bingo.

We’re ready to party! What are the best gay clubs?
Definitely try Sweatbox on Fridays and Mother on Saturdays. There are other club nights every month, such as Euphoria, Profile and Daddi. Just look out for their events on Facebook. Local tip: Although most clubs end at around 3am, you can always find one of Dublin’s infamous after parties! :)

And finally, where can we get the best view of Dublin?
The Guinness Storehouse rooftop Gravity Bar offers a great view of the city, but if you have more time in your itinerary, we would recommend a trip the Wicklow Mountains for some awesome scenery and views over Dublin. ●
