How gay-friendly is your city? What’s gay life like there?

Playa del Inglés is one of the largest and most popular gay spots on the island. For years now, Maspalomas has been attracting tourists from all over the world. Altough most of the gayguise landing on this fabulous island are from Europe, the Canary Islands are widely known for their incontaminated beauty and openness.

What are the best gay events that take place in your city each year?

Maspalomas Gay Pride occurring over the second week of May and Maspalomas Winter Pride on November are definitely the most popular. Other festivals like Bear Carnival and Gay Carnival at the end of March, also attract dozens of tourists. For the bravest we also host Fetish week and Freedom party on October. But yeah, our gay calendar is quite busy throuout the year.

We only have 48 hours in your city. What can’t we miss?

For a relaxing weekend you can enjoy the beach of Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas, during the day. The dunes are situated between the town of Maspalomas and the Playa del Inglès and they definitely are a must see, attracting visitors all year round. There are a lot of activities to enjoy this area as riding on camels and water activities. There are a lot of Pool Parties and a popular water park, Aqualand Maspalomas.

What’s your favorite gay place to grab a bite for lunch? A nice dinner?

Allende 22° is not properly a gay place but I love it as it's a hidden corner on the main busy street of Playa del Inglés. Great service, lots of variety and a great vibe.

Best gay place and day for a cheap beer or happy hour?

You should definitely go to the Yumbo center, it has plenty of gay bars and they're open everyday!

What are the best alternative gay bars and clubs where you live?

Divinity karaoke bar is my favourite spot in Yumbo center. It's very lively and fun, the perfect spot to spend a one-of-a-kind evening.

Where you can we get the best view of Maspalomas?

The great Promenade is a beautiful path along the Paseo Costa Canaria covering about twelve kilometers of the coastline. You can enjoy a great view of the sea and the cross through several beaches. ●
