Villa Veleta

This could not have been better. For me, it was the perfect location in Centro. And the private pool was outstanding. Jamie was the perfect host, and everyone I met associated with the property were fantastic. If you want a beautifully designed and furnished ******** in a modern Spanish style (all the amenities), this is a great choice. Thank you Jamie for all your help, suggestions, and xtras. A fabulous five weeks in Merida!

Merida is full of old buildings like this which contain secret gardens behind seemingly crumbling walls. The design of the place was Architectural Digest-ready—we loved the walls Left partially unfinished, to reveal the layers of stone and plaster And paint. The old Spanish tiles were beautiful, and the modern kitchen and bathrooms made it stunningly contemporary. Even the lighting in the garden, the gravel, lounge chairs And the private Pool made this place really special. Once we got our bearings, we realized how walkable the location is—the plaza was one way, and the restaurants and old mansions of camino Montejo and 47th St Restaurant Row were the other. We usually go to Puerto Vallarta, which is all condo towers—this was the opposite-somewhat gritty, real Mexico, and full of hidden surprises like this place.

Villa Veleta is a very beautiful oasis in the center of Merida. The design, decor, and amenities of the house make it a work of art. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and will book again the next time I am in Merida. The host was friendly, welcoming, and easy to communicate with. I have already highly recommended Villa Veleta to my friends and family and am looking forward to staying in Villa Veleta again on my next trip to Merida.
