In the heart of Chartres

Just a few steps from the cathedral Notre Dame de Chartres, this newly-renovated apartment is comfortable and contemporary. The guest house of the main building is situated across a small courtyard and has a separate entrance.

Each level is about 22 square meters, for a total of about 66 square meters. The ground floor is the entry. On the first floor are a bedroom and bathroom, and the third floor has a spacious kitchen and living area. Large windows welcome in light. A stairway connects the three levels.

The two-person bed is 140cm wide by 190cm long.

The kitchen features a multi-function micro, cooktop, water boiler, under-counter frigo, and dishwasher. If needed, you will have access to a clothes washer and dryer.

The bathroom has an American 110v outlet. Other electrical outlets are the standard French plugs, 220v.

How is this experience different? Think of your stay as less like a bed-and-breakfast or a hotel and more like staying at a friend’s house. You are a guest in my home. It’s personal. You’ll see my art, family heirlooms, books, etc.

Chartres' old town center is restricted and pedestrian-friendly. (Paid underground parking is available nearby.) During your visit you will be in easy walking distance to cafés, bistrots, shops, and restaurants. It’s life in a small French town. Of course you’ll see the cathedral, famous for its stained glass and labyrinth. And Paris if you like, because it’s only an hour from Chartres by train. So even the Louvre and Eiffel Tower are an easy day trip.
