Single room available in a gorgeous cottage in the village of Melsonby. The village is situated just off the A1 and A66 and is ideally situated for a stop off on a long journey and centrally situated to explore the local area including Richmond and Barnard Castle. The bedroom has a single bed, desk and a set of drawers for storage. All other rooms are shared with myself.

Attending a wedding at Middleton Lodge, this listing ticked all the required boxes. Melsonby is a hidden village, quiet and peaceful, yet minutes away from the motorway. Paul was more than happy to allow me access to his home, despite him not being around to welcome me. He's an outdoorsy guy - really well travelled too - and was leading a local group of walkers in all the magnificence of the immediate countryside. His home is comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. And in the morning, I was able to leisurely 'get ready' for the celebrations ahead. Thanks Paul.
Hope the wedding went well Jon. They had perfect weather. See you next time
I can neither be negative nor positive about my stay here. Other than messages back and forth, I never met the host so I can't comment on him as a person. It all felt a little awkward!
I'm sorry you felt this way Kenny. You stayed in the room and never came out, so didn't know if you wanted to be left alone and didn't want to intrude in case you did.
Paul was a good host, and good conversationalist, very knowledgable of the area, this is a very central place to stay with easy access to surrounding areas Thanks for your hospitality Paul see you again
My pleasure 😉
