Attending a wedding at Middleton Lodge, this listing ticked all the required boxes. Melsonby is a hidden village, quiet and peaceful, yet minutes away from the motorway. Paul was more than happy to allow me access to his home, despite him not being around to welcome me. He's an outdoorsy guy - really well travelled too - and was leading a local group of walkers in all the magnificence of the immediate countryside. His home is comfortable and I had a great nights sleep. And in the morning, I was able to leisurely 'get ready' for the celebrations ahead. Thanks Paul.

I can neither be negative nor positive about my stay here. Other than messages back and forth, I never met the host so I can't comment on him as a person. It all felt a little awkward!

I'm sorry you felt this way Kenny. You stayed in the room and never came out, so didn't know if you wanted to be left alone and didn't want to intrude in case you did.
