This location cannot be beaten if you're looking to enjoy the best food, sights, and attractions the Hostess City is known for. You will not need a car when you stay here - River St is only a 10-minute walk and Forsyth Park is only about 15 minutes away. You can get to both places and all the sights, squares, and food in between with little effort.
The entire building - including this apartment - has gone through a thorough renovation, sparing no expense to turn this 1800s building into one of the most beautiful and welcoming spaces in the Hostess City.
The grounds are pristine and full of the Southern charm Savannah is known for. Each apartment has been thoughtfully designed to provide you with maximum comfort, access to modern amenities, and no-fuss entry so you can easily get settled and begin exploring or relaxing.
*Off note, this apartment is on the second floor, so you will have a flight of stairs to climb to reach the space.
*Additionally, the entrance to the main building, the third-story laundry room, and the courtyard are shared with other guests.
*Nevertheless, we ensure that all of our guests are here to relax and have a great time, so the shared spaces should create great opportunities to meet and mingle with similarly-minded people - which is what the Hostess City is all about! Guests will have access to the apartment, the private porch, the shared courtyard, the shared laundry room, and the metered street parking across the building. Please refer to the check-in guide on the app for more details.
*Note: The apartment is in a building that houses other guests much like an Inn, so we ask that the space is treated with dignity and respect at all times. Please keep noise to a minimum between 8pm and 8am as per city ordinance. Parties and events are strictly prohibited. When you stay in this apartment, you will be living in some of Savannah's most desirable real estate - right in the heart of Downtown! Some of the best restaurants and sights are only steps from your rich and luxurious property.
Having a car is unnecessary when living here - you can walk, ride, or bike anywhere in this part of town. Once you have booked, we will send you plenty of recommendations on what to do, see, eat, and drink while in Savannah - this list should kickstart your planning.
Convenience and grocery stores are just a few minutes walk from the upstairs apartment - without mentioning the plethora of cafes, bars, and restaurants. Walk through each square to shop local retailers, grab a coffee or quick bite, or park yourself on a bench and just enjoy the Savannah scenery.
Those in the mood for a true Southern meal will love being close to Mrs. Wilke's Boarding Room, with other local favorites such as 700 Drayton or Crystal Beer Parlor just a short walk or Uber ride from the property.
Popular tourist areas such as River Street and City Market are just a 5-minute walk away, while Savannah's local green space - Forsyth Park - is about 20 minutes away on foot or five minutes by car.
Once you're here, you will not want to move out!
Hurry and reserve your stay! We think that walking around town is the best way to see the city!
If riding is more your speed, we are a quick and inexpensive Uber or taxi to all of the downtown attractions. The free DOT trolley picks up just a couple of blocks away and runs every fifteen minutes to the Historic District too!
If you drove here, park on one of the many available metered on-street spots and walk or ride around Savannah. Meters are free every day after 8 pm. They are also free on Sundays and federal holidays. You can also secure a parking pass for the city through the visitor center. It's a great spot to start your stay by grabbing tons of information and flyers for local businesses.
** Note: Attention must be paid to the street sweeping schedule to avoid a parking fine when parking on the street. There are signs posted on the side of the road with sweeping times. Simply move your vehicle to a street that is not getting swept that day to avoid a ticket. We ask that the space, other guests, and our neighbors are treated with dignity and respect. Please respect the home and its rules. This will help us maintain peace and ensure that all of our guests have a wonderful Savannah Stay!
