Saint-Martin is a friendly, cosmopolitan island, popular with LGBTQ+ travelers, with a relaxed atmosphere of beaches, restaurants, beach bars and nightlife on both the French and Dutch sides. Nearby Orient Bay is a must: it's one of the island's best-known beaches, with numerous restaurants and beach bars, and its LGBTQ+-friendly zone (far right as you look at the horizon) is renowned for its naturist atmosphere.
On the Dutch side, Cupecoy is also very popular for its small cliffside beaches, wilder atmosphere and naturist-friendly corners.
For a more discreet getaway, Happy Bay is also ******** for the LGBTQ+ community.
To go out, enjoy a drink at sunset or dine in a relaxed atmosphere, you'll find many gay-friendly addresses all over the island. I particularly like the free and open atmosphere of Saint-Martin, where you can easily alternate between a beach day, a seaside aperitif and a lively evening. When it comes to restaurants and cafés, Orient Bay and Grand Case are among my favorite areas: there's a great mix of beachside eateries, Creole cuisine, more refined restaurants and friendly bars. For shopping and strolling, Marigot is also a great option, with its boutiques, cafés and Franco-Caribbean ambience.
