I am spontaneous assertive guy living in the Flemish countryside on a family property since more than 150 years near the Dutch / Belgian border between the historical towns of Ghent - Bruges- Antwerp and the Dutch North Sea coast of Seeland Holland with wonderful beaches - dunes. Brussels capital of Belgium is 1 hr drive and also the nice French town of Lille. So if you like also discover this region great to be host and guide in my cottage on the property
The area is a paradise for walking - cycling and good gastronmy
My hobby s are to travel - walking - cycling - gastronomy , good restaurants and cooking - gardens and gardening - photography -, ship spotting - industrial archeology - Flea markets - arthouse movie's - music from opera to classical music - world music and jazz of course if I have free time.

The village of Assenede is one of the oldest villages in Flanders and near the border with Holland. The region is ideal for cycling, walking, relaxing and fishing , good restaurants and of course to discover the historical towns of Ghent , Bruges, Antwerp, Damme, Middelburg (NL) all between 20 and 40 minut drive. The Dutch North-sea Coast with the resorts of Breskens( naturist beach ), and the luxury beach resort with casino Knokke 30 min drive by car. The willow-lined canals, lush green pastures and extensive soft, sandy dunes of Flanders need no introduction; their beauty has been captured for centuries by some of the world's greatest artists. The Meetjesland, however is known only to a discerning few, yet it has much to offer anyone seeking peace and quiet. It's one of those rare corners of Western Europe where time has virtually stood still and man has barely changed the face of nature. Today it's a land of creeks and polders, tall fields, « sleeping » dikes and old smugglers routes in the north and woodlands in the south which contain beautiful castles and castle farms.
