PLACES TO VISIT:
Las Piedras
The Rio Gaira flows here in the Rio Arimaca. Bizarre rock formations make natural whirlpools which invite you to a cool refreshment. Las Piedras is also ******** pool of Minca.
Pozo Azul
A nice walk along the Rio Gaira in direction of El Campano leads to the waterfalls and natural pools of Pozo Azul. If the water is deep enough you can jump from one of the rocks. If you walk further up the river there are other small waterfalls and pools.
Security Note: Caution is advised at the last accessible waterfall, it has strong and dangerous underwater streams. It is not recommended to swim and cliff dive. The rocks can be very slippery!
Cascadas Marinka
The Marinka - waterfall is located westwards of Minca, on the way to Los Pinos. Here, you can stand under the waterfall and take a natural shower. The waterfall is located on private property and the entrance fee is COP 3' 000.00.
Security Note: the rocks around and above the waterfall are very slippery and its very dangerous to climb!
Finca Montecristo
This Finca is operated by several families, which cultivate coffee in a simple and natural way. People who want to have an insight into the functioning and the lives of coffee farmers, will be rewarded with a worthwile experience. All the employees which are working on the Finca Bolivar, come from this Finca and are happy to show our guests around Montecristo. (15'000 p.p, min 2 people)
Hacienda La Victoria
On this old coffee - Finca, which is run by a German couple in the third generation, 200 tons of Arabica - coffee is harvested annually.
For COP 10' 000.00 you can get a guided tour and interesting insight into the production process and can try different coffees at the end.
Los Pinos
This circular hike goes along the Arimaca – Valley, passing the Marinka waterfall. From there a path rises through coffee plantations to the viewpoint of Los Pinos. When the cloud ceiling is pierced, you have a fabulous view of the Sierra Nevada, Santa Marta and the sea.
At clear view, you can see the snow mountains. The hike continues on the dirt road towards the eastern Gaira valley to El Campano and back to Minca.
Paso del Mango
This hike leads over old Indian trails to Bonda (outskirts of Santa Marta). You pass several rivers and streams with small waterfalls where you can cool off. Also on the way is a cacao-and and coffee farm. For the way back to Minca, you can take a taxi or Busseta with direction of Yucal. From there continue with the Moto taxi
Cerro Kennedy
The coronation of this hike is the viewpoint of Los Nevados. From here you can see almost the entire Sierra Nevada, the sea, and in good weather, the two highest mountains in Colombia Pico Cristóbal Colón and Pico Simón Bolívar .
There is a simple camping site - however without running water and sanitary facilities.

Check-out is at 13:00. If you require a later check-out, please contact us before 10:00 on the day of departure, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. A charge may apply, depending on availability.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If cancelled or modified up to 2 days (48 hours) by 14:00 before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If canceled or modified within 48 hours or less or in case of no-show, fees equivalent to the first night (maximum two nights) accommodation will be charged.
If you wish to cancel any dates during your stay, you must notify the hostel 2 days (48 hours) in advance prior to 14:00 of the date you want to cancel. According to certain circumstances guests who do not comply with the house rules can be asked to leave the premises immediately.
LAUNDRY
Laundry collected after 10:00 a.m will be delivered at the next day evening at regular charges.
In case of loss or damage by FINCA HOSTAL BOLIVAR, compensation shall not exceed 5 times the cost of cleaning of articles.
