Other points of tourist interest in the area are the Reina Sofia Cultural Center, or the wonderful gardens of the Alameda. A very typical sight is to see the fishermen on their balustrade, who with a lot of patience and tenacity try to catch some fish. Just in front of the Alameda is the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen worthy of mention because it is one of the baroque jewels of Cadiz. And another point of interest is the Baluarte de la Candelaria, a good example of adaptation of what is a military fortification to a cultural area, with exhibitions or events, such as the South New Fashion Latitude, a showcase of fashion, design and trends, or the Book Fair. Both are held there every year.
