The Artist's apartment (100 sq.m.) contains many original works and sculptures from the artist Thodoros Kapaounakis. Each work carefully placed to bring the feeling of space and light and to delight the curiosity and senses of the guests. The apartment has a view of the valley and the sea in the distance. The whole of the apartment is available, the entrance is via the studio of the artist,but has its own door and blocks ******** guests are interested in knowing more about the artist and his work, Thodoros will be available to show them around the studio and offer them the opportunity to see more of his work. Please note that the artist might visit his studio between 11 am to 2 pm to work, he will be quiet and if you do not want him to be in the studio on a specific day, please let him know. Thodoros is very happy to share his studio with other artists. (if they wish, and the cost of this can be discussed directly with Thodoros) Also if guests are interested in having a deeper experience, there is also the possibility of arranging snorkeling and swimming in private beaches with the opportunity to catch their own fish., Thodoros also creates his own spearguns and is a free diver, he has snorkeling equipment available for guests is necessary. If guests will stay for any length of time there is also the opportunity to join art classes or have individual lessons, in Hagiography and sculpting. The studio apartment is a truly unique experience.
The studio also presents the possibility of enjoying the lively night life and beaches around the island and then to be able to return to the privacy and the calm of the village.

My name is Thodoros, I am an artist from Greece, I also enjoy travelling and have lived in other countries, i.e. Norway, Holland, Sweden, Spain and the UK, but my heart belongs to my island of Aegina where I was born and to where I have returned the last few years. As an artist, I have worked in many fields, painting, Hagiography, Interior design, stonework, but I love the richness of working with materials from the sea, especially driftwood. I am also an ardent deep sea free diver and create my own spearguns. The Artist's Studio is located in the village of Messagros, 9km from the town of Aegina, close by is Agios Nectarios, and the Temple of Aphaia. Within a 5-10 minute drive, there are the seaside resorts of Aghia Marina and Vagia. Aegina town itself boasts a vibrant nightlife during the summer months, with its cafe's, eateries, local tavernas, and open-air bars and night clubs. There are many art galleries and artisan shops. The months of August and September are particularly interesting as it is during this time that there is the open air music festival around the Island and also the famous Fistiki Festival, as Aegina is ******** produces the best pistachio nuts. There is also Athens and its famous archaeological sites, museums and nightlife to visit which also features several gay bars, clubs, and cafes. Piraeus Port can be reached within just 40 minutes by Flying Dolphin or 1 hour 10 minutes by ferry ******** then it is a short taxi ride or metro to the Centre of Athens, so a day trip is very easy, combining the buzz of Athens together with the Island experience. ********

Please note access to the apartment is via a winding staircase and has no protection gate. No Smoking allowed, no pets, no visitors except those who have rented the studio. Guests are requested not to move the artifacts without the owners express permission. Noise should be kept to a reasonable level after 11 pm until 8 pm. PLEASE NOTE FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST ONLY 13 DAY BOOKINGS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
