The Reveal

For 9 years, in the heart of the old Medina Marrakesh, I receive my hosts with my boyfriend, in a real old Riad built in 1804. We want to make love to all our hosts marrakech, as we like ourselves this city. The 5 suites open onto the patio where banana trees, papyrus, orange trees and other trees of the traveler grow; a real little jungle! The fountain murmurs. A huge terrace awaits you to enjoy the sun all day. In the evening, a pretty Orientalist lounge, you welcome by the fire, with a glass of Moroccan wine. Your dog is also welcome!

SCAMMED - BE CAREFUL I arrived in the riad in the photos, and was greeted by a member of staff. He called Erwan (his boss and the Misterbnb host) and the memebr of staff asked me to follow him to my room. We left the building and he led me down several alleyways for 5 minutes or so, and we arrived at a completely different riad. It was called 'Zelda'. It was much more basic than the riad I had booked (smaller, simpler and lacking the beaitiful plants of the riad i had booked) and the room was small and dark (completely diffferent to the room photos on misterbnb). I asked the owner of the Zelda riad if it was part of the same collection of riads ans he said it has got nothing to do with the one I booked. I told Erwan (the Misterbnb host) I didn't want to stay there and he said that was my problem and I had to contact misterbnb. He told me his riad was fully booked. It is disgraceful a host can do that to a guest. He seemed unconcerned and told me 'it was just one night'. I was furious a host can do this and want to protect other fuests. He took my money and then sent me to a more basic riad that was completely different. That's not okay. (Of course I shared with Misterbnb the photos of the place I went to and how it's different to the riad I booked, and the difference in the room quality too, and of the member of staff leading me down alleyways to a different riad). DO NOT RISK THIS PLACE

The Tibibt riad is an exceptional accommodation. A historic building with two beautiful courtyards. The most charming room I have ever stayed in. I will definitely return. The best place to experience the magic of Morocco.

Very friendly staff. An island of peace in the busy city!

Unfortunately, my experience at this Riad was disappointing, and I cannot recommend it. While the staff were friendly and willing to assist, only one spoke fluent English, which made communication challenging. Several major issues significantly impacted my stay: 1. Overpriced for the Quality and Location: The Riad is vastly overpriced considering its location in a dirty alley and the standard of accommodations provided. I paid an extra €35 for an upper-floor room to get some sunlight, yet the room lacked basic amenities like heating. On top of this, my laundry went missing. At €115 per night, I expected a much higher standard, but the experience fell far short. 2. Subpar Breakfast: The breakfast was a major letdown. The coffee was cold, the fried egg and pancakes were excessively oily, and there were no healthy options such as fruits. After an unpleasant first experience, I chose to have breakfast elsewhere for the rest of my stay. 3. Parking and Directions: The directions provided to find the Riad were unclear, resulting in a frustrating experience navigating narrow alleyways by car. Moreover, although the website claimed parking was included, I was asked to pay an additional 350 MAD for five nights, which was not disclosed in advance. While Marrakech itself is a wonderful destination, this Riad failed to meet even basic expectations for comfort, value, and transparency. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative accommodations.

The riad is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen/been. The swimming pool was nice and warm, the food is amazing and the staff is superb. The location is right in the center, but to get there you have to navigate through a maze of little streets that get a bit dark and scary at night. Our room was next to the pool, which didn't allow much space for privacy and we could hear every movement in the riad in our room (and visa versa). I was also a bit surprised by the extra costs (extra guest, booking fee etc), but this also could be on me since I didn't read the description well.

This is truly a little piece of heaven. Erwan was wonderful to communicate with. It was so lovely meeting him! His staff are the kindest, most compassionate folks. The minute that we arrived we felt like family Please book this asap! As a gay couple, we felt so loved.

The Tibibt Riad itself is a green oasis in middle of chaotic medina of Marrakech with an authentic unique style, clean and the amneties are well taken after. I never met Erwan personally but the team on site were quite helpful, friendly and lovely. The communication could have been better and clearer. It is important to notice that it is not a gay hotel and it has different kinds of rooms, which is not accuratly described here. The ones offered on Misterbnb are on the ground floor and open directly to the patio with offer less privacy and natural light and more noises from the kitchen and patio. After long discussion I had to upgrade to another room and pay extra to get a more pleasant experience.
