Centrally located this house was a project undertaken by myself to cater to the LGBT community and operate as a self catering B&B for travellers coming to this lovely area to explore. It’s close to all the tourist spots as a base. Oudsthoorn, Knysna, wilderness and Plettenberg bay are all quite close for day trip. The location of my house is within walking distance to some of the restaurants. The beaches are not far from this location either. There are grocery shops close by and some pubs as well. I can guide you on any places which might be of interest on your travels. Been a local here for over 13 years and could advise on your itinerary and make suggestions of places to see.

Like I said there are many amazing spots to see. George has great restaurants, some good pubs and a lovely cocktail bar which serves bespoke drinks.

In so many ways, it’s Ken himself who is the brand of this terrific listing. Yes - George as a town is slap bang in the middle of some great sightseeing destinations, being equidistant for example from Knysna in one direction - ~ 1 hour - and Oudtshoorn in another. Wilderness is 20 minutes away. And it has a greatly functioning infrastructure, the airport being a major plus, as well as some fantastic bars & restaurants. Shout out here to Ken’s go-to ‘101 on Meade’ which I discovered to be world class. But it’s Ken who creates the foundations, the conditions on which a guaranteed successful trip can be based. He’s a thoroughly decent guy - kind, considerate, unselfish, generous - and he just wants his guests to have the best of times. For me, he couldn’t have been any more welcoming ; ‘help yourself, switch off, feel comfortable’ is the mantra at No. 28. My large en-suite room did its job very well - a brilliant bed, lashings of hot water, a TV that works ! - and beyond it, the kitchen was well equipped and the outside space, whilst currently a work in progress, offers up relaxation in spades. But that’s if you’ve got the time to enjoy it !? Ken really has energy and besides serving up a delicious ‘Sunday cooked breakfast’, he was in the navigators seat, in charge of the direction of travel as we traversed the ‘Best of George and its Environs’ ! And he was my enthusiastic dining companion at Polpettas and the aforementioned 101. Both were great ; 101 was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. Alongside his 6 other separated but adjacent guest units, Ken’s proposition in his own home offers up sociability, ease, enjoyment and memory making in equal measure. Thanks Ken.
