I am a retired IT professional. I enjoy traveling and learning about other cultures. I consider myself to be very easy going and enjoy meeting new friends. One of the enjoyable things that I have done since retiring is restoring and updating my historic home.

Alan's home is beautiful. The inside makes you feel like you are back in time. The guest room was large and very comfortable. The back yard has everything for you to hang out (with or without clothes). He has a large pool and a very nice deck with multiple seatings spots. It is a great way to spend time when traveling. But, perhaps, the secret to the home is its host. Alan is a gem and quite personable. I highly recommend.

Alan is a wonderful host and truly a very nice person. The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean. The back yard is so nice, I stayed out in the sun a little longer than I planned to. Alan is considerate and kind, felt like I knew him a long time though we just met. Nothing but the best wishes for you and your future endeavors!

I enjoyed staying at Alan's place. The room with a private bathroom is spacious, super clean and with a comfy bed where I slept for hours like a baby. The house is awesome, his historic charm and the private outside deck and pool are a plus. The neighborhood is very cosy, with parking super easy. Last but not least, Alen is the sweetest host. Kind, accommodating and very easy to communicate with. Thanks again!

This 1910 craftsman house should be on tour of historic homes. Woodwork, fixtures, and modernized kitchen applaud the skill of construction back in the day. Soon, The back patio will be a meeting place in the spring and summer, but a cold plunge now is very worth it just before getting cozy in the best bed I've slept in. Alan is the best host! He treats you like an ol friend coming to visit. Definitely stay at Alan's. The Heights area is the best part of the city

Had a big family gathering in Houston the next day and a 4+ hour drive from my house. My thoughts were I just couldn't survive a lonely hotel room. But Mister bb had an ever thankful alternative in Alan's historical home. It's a beautiful place that Alan has put a lot of hard work in preserving the original intent of its creator back in the early 1900s. More important to me though was Alan treating me like an old friend ~we watched a movie while sipping cold beer. I'm a quiet introvert but our conversation could have lasted for days I Fell asleep instantly on this amazing bed. This stay was important. I felt included not alone.
