We stayed at George's home for just two night and wish we had planned a longer stay. The home is beautiful, clean, comfortable and has an amazing view of Lake Champlain! Saturday morning I woke up early enough to watch the sunrise over the lake. Such a warm relaxing place to stay. George's home is a short walk to all that downtown Plattsburgh has to offer. We hope to stay here again in the future !
Thank you so much! I am so glad to share my zen space with respectful, caring guests like yourselves.
Wow, this entire stay was perfect! Let me count the ways: First, the location was amazing. The house is a very short walk (<1/2 mile) to downtown, close to SUNY Plattsburgh, and a couple miles (walk or drive) down Cornelia St to get to the strip (major stores, chain restaurants, etc). We drove to Lake Placid the second day (1 hour) and the third day we took the ferry (w/car) to Grand Isle then drove to Burlington, VT (1-1/4 hour including ferry). Second, the house was so charming. An old Victorian lakefront on Lake Champlain offering beautiful views including sunrises and sunsets. Although this is a shared house we had all the privacy we could ask for. Last but not least the host, George, was wonderful. He was very communicative over text making check in seamless. He let us pick our choice of room (obviously chose the one overlooking the lake). He offered to make breakfast in the morning and made some awesome protein pancakes. Even on the last morning when we had to leave early he had coffee, juice, and toast for us. He picked up a local Burlington VT paper for us since he knew we were going there. He text us weather updates when he knew we may encounter rain and also provided local dining suggestions. Overall it was above and beyond and very thoughtful. We had nice conversations around the kitchen table. It's hard to sum up just how great of a trip this was. If you're thinking about staying here - DO IT!
