Fabulous, Super-Cute Beach House w/ Private Yard, Gym & Beach Passes

North Beach has a super-cute coffee shop called the Bakist; and several great restaurants- all are very welcoming. Hook & Vine is a nice place for lunch nearby. (Dinner needs a reservation.) You can get a drink and sample cheese from local farms at Vaughan Cheese Counter & Bar next door.

We highly recommend lunch reservations at Ketch 22, which is on the water for another day. It’s at the Herrington Harbor Marina Club. In the summer, request a table at the end of the deck near the water. Their fish tacos are really good.

Plaza Mexico is authentic and very good Mexican food. Their marinated shrimp is good.

Roland’s is the nearest big grocery store that is a short drive away, but you can get milk, eggs, seafood, and organic food from local farms at Chesapeake’s Bounty on the main strip in North Beach town.

Besides Ketch 22 and Hook & Vine, our top recommendations are: Tyler's (steamed/cajun shrimp and seafood, take out only), and Skipper's Pier for an outdoor late afternoon drink on the water when it’s warm (20 mins away in Deale but very worth it - hug Fairhaven Road along the coast all the way up). Jesse Jay's Latin Kitchen is great for brunch. City Sliders has good vegetarian and vegan options.

Bay Wine & Spirits is a local hangout with a Cheers-type vibe. The Wheelhouse is more of a beer garden and bar – but often has live music (check ******** of walks/bike-rides, don’t miss the Chesapeake Beach Railway Trail (last item in the guidebook) - it's a very long raised boardwalk over the wetlands behind the water park in Chesapeake Beach. There is also trail that leads to wetlands a few minutes from our place - behind the apartment buildings - this is our daily evening walk. It’s perfect for a walk with your dog and goes through a park where you can watch the sunset.
