The Reveal

Relaxing

I live in the historic city of Providence, RI. Gardening is my passion together with making Ceramic art. I have combined the 2 and created a wonderful environment here at my home. I am a gay man who identifies with the Bear community. However, all are welcome to enjoy my residence as long as you subscribe to the Golden Rule. "Treat others as you would like to be treated." I am open minded and liberal in my spirituality and politics. I am an artist working in Ceramics, a professional garden designer and a yoga teacher. I enjoy a wide range of activities from reading, movies, cooking and dining out to dancing and a good glass of red wine. HostWithPride. There are many good to great restaurants of a variety of ethnicities in the immediate area and many wonderful others in the Federal Hill and downtown area, not far away.

John's home is a groovy, quiet haven. It is a true artist's space - lots of original fine art and pottery to enjoy. He has a gorgeous garden and super cool ceramics studio. Overall a cool bohemian and spiritual vibe. The bedroom is on the second floor, quiet and private. I spent most of my time at events on the East Side (dowtown and Brown) but there are funky things to enjoy in this Mt Pleasant/Federal Hill area too.

In every way, my stay with John was first rate: His response to my booking request was a huge relief because other commercial accommodations were all booked solid and very, very expensive. John is a RISD graduate and a talented artist, so staying with him AND his art is a visual bonus. Since I was in Providence for a college reunion, I especially appreciated his flexible "in/out" policy. While his art is itself worth the stay, his garden and outdoor patio are a botanic bonus!!

John was a great host. He was helpful and accommodating. I wish it would have been warmer so I could have spent time in the garden.

It was a real pleasure staying with John. He was easy to coordinate with and conscientious about making sure our schedules worked together for checkout and sharing the space. John's place is very welcoming and full of warmth, kindness and art. It felt nourishing to spend a couple nights there and my partner and I look forward to visiting again some time for garden season.

John was a fantastic host. He is quick to respond to any questions and we very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. His place is the perfect location and is easily accessible. A quick bus ride almost anywhere in the city, situated in a nice and quiet neighborhood. John was kind enough to invite me to yoga during my stay, and even as a beginner his instruction was easy to follow. I look forward to staying here again in the future.

This is my third stay... so that says it all. This time, as the garden is going full tilt, I actually spent some time out there doing some paperwork. It was heaven. Combine that, a comfortable bed, and a kind host, and that makes this a great place to stay. Parking is easy.

We had a great stay at John's. He was very prompt with communications, and he provided very helpful information about area coffee shops, restaurants, and attractions. He made us feel very welcome. Our bedroom was very comfortable, and while there was only one shared bath, it never presented a problem. As an added bonus, we were invited to participate in one of the yoga classes that John instructs in his home

John is an easy going gracious host. He invited us to a yoga class that he teaches. His home and neighborhood are extremely quiet! We would gladly stay with him again!
