The Reveal

Near LGBTQ+ SceneCozyInsta-WorthyRelaxing

Located in a semi-rural part of Las Cruces, this 320 square foot casita on a 2-acre gated property features privacy, quiet, dark night skies, outdoor seating, a large/gated yard, and desert gardens. Suitable for 1-2 adults. 3 miles from the Mesilla Plaza; 6 miles from downtown; 6 miles from NMSU; 1 hour from White Sands; 45 minutes from El Paso. Your hosts: Christopher & David. We manage the rental ourselves; there is no third-party channel manager. The property website is: ********

On the property, you walk through a private gate by where you park to the entrance of the casita, which sits adjacent to the main house on two acres. You can enjoy some peace and quiet on the patio, surrounded by native desert plants such as cacti, mesquite and Palo Verde trees, yucca, palms, and agaves. Many of these are in colorful bloom March – October. There is outdoor seating.

Artfully arranged, this private and peaceful space seems much larger than its 300+ square feet. Rejuvenate after your adventures in the full-size bed. The Casita does not have a full kitchen. Rather, there is a bar with a microwave, two-burner stove, mini refrigerator, utensils, and a sink. A Keurig is there for you to enjoy, along with complimentary coffee (Decaf and regular) and tea. An outdoor gas grill is also available for use. UberEats, Door Dash, and Grubhub are in Las Cruces.

The feedback we get is that people feel safe, and they love the privacy and quiet of the casita and property. Those with dogs love the spacious (fenced) backyard, which is shade covered by large pecan trees. There are homes nearby, but all at a good distance from where you are staying.

The casita is located where the desert meets the pecan orchards, which you will be surrounded by. Take this into account if you are allergic to pollen, which is at its greatest here March-May. Pecans have become synonymous with southern New Mexico. There are 9 pecan trees on the property and a pecan farm across the street.

On the property is XYZ Studios, a non-residential space/gallery for local artists. Two artists have stations in the Studio, and we offer art openings and workshops. We will notify you if any events are scheduled during your stay. Guests in the casita can visit the studio.

Keeping in line with the art-focused nature of the property, the interior and outside walls are adorned with pieces by blue-chip Southwest artists, and the upper shelves display hand-made Navajo folk art. When it's warm, there are two Frigidaire air conditioners, plus two ceiling fans (one in the bedroom and one in the main room). If you get cold, there is a baseboard heater, as well as a portable unit. There is a heated mattress cover on the bed. There is a full bathroom, with sink, toilet, tub/shower combo.

Unwind with your favorite shows on the Roko TV. There is free WiFi and access to a washer and dryer (which are in the garage). There is on-site/off-street parking, and you park close to the Casita entrance.

Pajarito casita is very secluded, quiet and peaceful. It is a wonderful midway point stop on our travels between Texas and California, but it would also be a wonderful place to stay for people who want to explore the area.

The casita is cozy and comfortable. We especially loved the outdoor space for the doggos. We arrived just before dark and had no trouble navigating to the address. The location is very rural, dark and quiet, which was perfect for us. Miguel and Christopher provided detailed instructions, so everything was easy.

Christopher's home in Pajarita Casita was everything you can dream of when staying in New Mexico. From the moment I saw his beautiful gate, I knew I would be in for a real treat. Christopher is also so communicative and responded so quickly to my inquiries. I particularly loved all the recommendations he provided as well. I wish my stay was more than one night, and now want to plan another trip to New Mexico just to stay here!

Christopher and David were the perfect hosts greeting us, providing excellent suggestions and all-around great guys. The location is superb—off the beaten track in the pecan orchards yet close enough to Mesilla and LC. The dogs especially enjoyed the fenced yard and the walking trails for exploring the banks of the Rio Grande. If you're thinking of visiting this area you should stay here. 5-stars !
