Architect designed 1963 home, great indoor / outdoor living with a private courtyard and a traditional kiwi quarter acre garden with large Kauri, Totara and Puriri trees. My house in well maintained and mostly original. The guest room has a king sized bed with electric blanket. Full cooked or continental breakfast is included. Good Coffee....

Chris is such a lovely fella, we had fun and interesting conversations. He's great company and has a kinds and gregarious nature. He's got some lovely gardens and a house filled with art, style and stories.

A relaxing stay with the most accommodating and friendly host. A home from home. Comfy, good sized bed. Chris is a very laid back host, a great conversationalist and just a very nice guy. Thank you Chris for such a nice time and making your home feel like my home during my stay.

Great place and super host. Chris was outstanding guy who knows his hometown really well. I enjoyed the food and art scene in the area and Chris knows all there is to know about where to go. It was a lovely few days with great weather and couldn't ask for better experience overall.

Can't recommend this place enough. Chris is thoroughly entertaining and thoughtful. The house is a NZ gem of the highest order. The garden and house all wonderfully laid out with an excellent representation of New Plymouth artists. Thank you Chris!!

Chris is a fantastic host. He greeted me as i approached the door. Invited me to join the conversation with a guest. We engaged in much conversation throughout my stay. He's knowledgeable about the area and provided a number of touring tips. We shared breakfast and dinner together, which I greatly enjoyed. The house is mid century design with a lovely garden. The guest room was warm with a great bed and like most every NZ home I've been in, the bed has a heating blanket to keep one warm throughout the night.

I had a wonderful couple of nights at Chris's beautiful home in New Plymouth. He's a great host and made me feel right at home as soon as I walked in the door. I really enjoyed the chats over dinner and coffee in the morning. I sadly had to head to Auckland one night earlier, but there's plenty to do and see in Taranaki, so definitely try stay at least three nights. I would definitely stay with Chris again.

I really enjoyed my short stay in this charming retro house. Chris is an excellent host and made me feel right at home, was very communicative and a great conversationalist. The house is very tidy, yet full of character. The bed was super comfortable and I slept like a baby. I definitely hope to stay again sometime.
