The list of the gayest cities in the United States is very subjective!

The list of the gayest cities in the United States is very subjective!

If someone asks you what the gayest city in the United States is, you might say Miami, New York, San Francisco, or Los Angeles—indeed, not Salt Lake City. But the Mormon capital, known as one of the most conservative cities in the U.S., has just been named the gayest city in the U.S. by the gay magazine The Advocate.

Last year, the city of Minneapolis won the title. The Advocate has proposed this astonishing and perfectly subjective list for the past three years, highlighting American cities less publicized than San Francisco and its gay district of Castro or Chicago with its gay district of Boystown.

Here are some of the criteria used by the editors of this institution of the gay press to establish their ranking of the number of openly gay city officials, whether or not there are nude yoga classes, whether or not there is a law protecting transgender people, whether or not there is a basketball team present in the league. It's not just about the existence of naked yoga classes, the existence of a law protecting transgender people, the existence of a basketball team in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBA), the existence of a gay bookstore, or the fact that the city sent a citizen to the semi-finals of the Mr. Leather America election. Leather America...

As a result, Salt Lake City (Utah) has been named the gayest city in the United States. Our partner Damron lists no less than 64 gay establishments! Next comes Orlando (Florida), which hosts Gay Days at Disney World every year, and the city of Cambridge (Massachusetts), then Fort Lauderdale, the new gay capital of Florida, and finally Seattle.

Other cities in the top 15 include Atlanta, Portland, Austin, Little Rock, and Knoxville.
