What to do in Gay Copenhagen
Gay Copenhagen’s preeminent gay neighborhood is Straedet, which runs parallel to Stroget, from Hojbro Square to Vester Voldgade. Straedet, literally “The Alley”, is known as a shopping hub with many different shops with mainly antiques and art. There are also several bars, restaurants, and coffeehouses that are LGBT friendly. Some close-by restaurants and cafés are Conditori La Glace, Cock’s and Cows, and Café Sorgenfri. If you are looking for a good night life, you can find it at Oscar Bar Cafe, Heaven, and Centralhjornet.
Some of the more classic places in Copenhagen are the gay bars Cosy Bar, Jailhouse, and Masken. Never Mind and Pony are great options that attract a younger crowd. You can also find gay parties like Homoelectric and Popism, and a gay crowd at the bars Jolene and Vega. There is also a great cruise bar called Scandinavian Leather Men (SLM) Copenhagen and Body Bio, a sex club with a sauna. Amigo Sauna is another good sauna option in Copenhagen.
If you enjoy the beach, you will find a wonderful gay beach in Copenhagen. The city’s main gay beach is Tisvildeleje Beach. It is located in the Tisvilde Hegn nature preserve and is bordered by a forest. It is somewhat secluded, so it is a great location for nude sunbating and cruising. The gay area is about 2 kms from the entrance, right past the nude section.
While visiting Copenhagen you can take part to several gay events. Biggest and longest LGBT film festival in the world : MIX Copenhagen. Other good options include Nordic Open 2017 that is the biggest same sex dance competition in Scandinavia taking place in the two last days of December.
