Copenhagen Gay Pride is Denmark’s largest human rights (and LGBTQ) festival. The popular event features a huge pride parade on the last Saturday, finishing off with a big show and party at night. Copenhagen Gay Pride will also be hosting WorldPride in 2021!
Copenhagen is a LGBTQ hotspot in Europe thanks to its liberal attitude and overall acceptance of the community. In fact, Denmark was the first country in the world to recognize same-sex unions as far back as 1989. It makes perfect sense then that the Copenhagen Gay Pride is a popular and fully embraced event in the city's annual event calendar.
Bear in mind that this is the event program for 2019. Stay tuned for the 2020 program for Copenhagen Pride, coming soon. This year, Gay Pride Copenhagen will take place at the Rainbow Square (Regnbuepladsen) from August 13-18, with the main entertainment on the Pride Stage held at Pride Square (City Hall Square).
The highlight of Copenhagen Pride is the incredible parade which will kick off on Saturday, August 17 at 1pm from Frederiksberg Town Hall. For approximately two hours, it will travel through the city's charming streets before concluding at Copenhagen City Hall Square. Expect colorful floats, music, and plenty of LGBTQ pride!
Following the parade on Saturday, a large open-air concert will take place at Copenhagen City Hall Square, and include a range of exciting acts, including DJ Nah Care and Robin Skouteris.
