Planet Bar

Planet Bar is Edinburgh's longest-running gay bar, a warm, unpretentious institution at Baxter's Place on the edge of the city's Pink Triangle, established back in 1993. Recently refreshed, it's a compact, colorful spot with comfortable seating, a small dance floor, and reasonably priced premium drinks, beloved as much for its easygoing, all-welcome feel as for its entertainment lineup. There's something on seven nights a week, from DJs and drag hosts to karaoke and quiz nights, drawing a friendly, mixed crowd of locals and visitors. A repeat winner of regional LGBTQ+ venue awards and consistently praised as a genuine safe space, it's an ideal place to start an evening before heading deeper into the Pink Triangle.
