Welcome to Hiša Podlog - Your cosy getaway in the embrace of raw nature! Dear guests, we wish to extend you a warm welcome to Hiša Podlog. Placed underneath the mountain of Bohor (Slovenia), bordering on the Eastern Slovene Prealps and typical Pannonian landscape, Hiša Podlog lays on a small farm estate carrying the name ‘Znoj’ (l.t. Sweat) was occupied since approx. 1900. The name and the farm-house are probably the true indicators of the conditions first owners were battling with. Typical Kozjansko region farm-house reveals the family struggle for survival: modest construction style with no fundaments, central room with small ceramic stove connected to open ‘black kitchen’, with wooden chimney. The studio apartment has been entirely refurbished in spring 2024 and we hope you will be able to enjoy all the amenities and most importantly, the vast private land featuring private pond, traditional apple and pear orchard for your time in close connection with nature. We only have a few simple house rules to share with you, to make your stay as relaxing as possible: 1. Your Privacy Matters • Complete Privacy: Your privacy is our top priority. We respect your space and will not disturb you during your stay unless requested. 2. Feel Free to Enjoy Your Surroundings • No Noise Restrictions: Whether you’re playing music, laughing with friends, or just enjoying nature’s sounds, don’t worry about keeping the noise down. You’re here to relax! • Outdoor Activities: Feel free to enjoy the outdoor spaces – whether it’s a BBQ, playing a game of Kubb, a late-night chat around the fire pit, or just lounging under the stars. 3. Respect the Natural Environment • Waste Disposal: Please use the provided bins in the left-kitchen draw for recycling and trash. We aim to keep the countryside pristine for everyone to enjoy. • Wildlife Awareness: You’re in a beautiful natural setting, where you might get a shy visit of a squirrel or a deer. While you may encounter some local wildlife, please observe from a distance and do remember that they most certainly fear you more than you could. 4. Property Use • Indoor and Outdoor Spaces: All areas of the property are available for your enjoyment. Please make yourself at home. • Furniture and Decor: Feel free to move things around to suit your comfort, but we kindly ask you to return everything to its original place before checkout. 5. Safety First • Fire Safety: If using the fireplace or outdoor fire pit, please ensure that fires are fully extinguished when not in use. In case of fire emergency, you can find a fire extinguisher placed on the bedroom wall. • Security: While we are in a very safe area, please do lock doors and close the windows when leaving the property, just as you would at home. • Emergency services: As we hope you might not need to contact any of the emergency service, we do share all contacts for your peace of mind. We will be happy to accommodate early check-ins, but please communicate those requests in advance. • Check-Out: By 11 AM. Late check-outs can be arranged with prior notice.
