Start/Finish: Marienplatz
The very first Gay Pride Munich (CSD München) took place back in 1980. Now, almost 40 years on, over 200,000 people take part in the various celebrations in this German city, also home to the Oktoberfest. The highlight of Gay Pride Munich is arguably the incredible parade, however, the city also comes out to play with a range of other exciting LGBTQ-related events and parties.
This year, the Munich Gay Pride (CSD München) will take place on Saturday, July 13. The demonstration is led by the Mayor, and starts and ends in a street festival in Marienplatz - Munich's historic central square. The parade kicks off at 12pm, so be sure to arrive on time to avoid missing out!
Later in the evening, the neo-gothic Munich City Hall opens its doors and is transformed into an enormous party location for pride enthusiasts. On both Saturday and Sunday, (July 13 and 14) Gay Pride (CSD) München has a street festival at the Marienplatz and the Rindermarkt, which is full of cultural events, music and food. All in all, a well-rounded and fun way to celebrate Pride in this German city!
