Beautiful apartment in the heart of this charming Andalusian town

Medina Sidonia is a beautiful pueblo blanco (white town) which remains unspoilt and full of local character (unlike some neighbouring towns and villages). It has a full range of services (shops, bars, restaurants ranging from traditional to more avant-garde, supermarkets, pharmacies, health centre, etc.) and is handily located for both international transport (half an hour from Jerez Airport and about an hour and a quarter from Seville Airport, around 2 hours from Málaga airport), as well as local points of interest, including the beautiful cities of Cádiz (35 min) and Jerez (25 min), the stunning coast stretching from Cádiz to Tarifa (closest point around half an hour away) with its huge beaches, not to mention stunning towns, village and countryside just a few minutes’ drive away. It is also a wonderful place for hiking and cycling, not to mention wind and kitesurfing on the coast (where there are many schools should you wish to learn).

This makes the apartment the ideal base for exploring the region, whether you are looking for adventure, a beach experience, or just chill and enjoy the sun, bars and eateries!

Worth visiting...

Cádiz, with its stunning, bustling old town full of life and character. It’s best to part outside the old town (there are a number of car parks in the port area) and then wander around its streets. Full of Andalucían character!

Jerez de la Frontera. About 25 minutes from Medina, another small city well worth a visit. Lots of character and plenty of international eateries (including Georgian, Korean, African, smokehouses...)

Tarifa. Home to surfers and fairly wealthy hipsters. Has a very cute old town stuffed with bars, boutiques, restaurants, barista style coffee shops and more. Parking can be BIG problem in the high season, but the city is small and only a short walk from the outskirts. The entire coast between Cádiz and Tarifa is worth visiting. Highlights include the Playa de Bolonia beach, with surfer bars and eateries, Conil de la Frontera (a bit touristy but still cute), Los Caños de Meca, Zahara de los Atunes (with lots of eateries, specialising in tuna –duh!– amongst other things).

Parque Natural Los Alcornocales: a mountainous region to the east of Medina and north of Tarifa, with spectacular view.

Vejer de la Frontera. Picture postcard but a wee bit touristy for our liking. Lots of eating, drinking, souvenir and boutiquey options, if that’s your thing.
